Upcycling Project

For Earth Day 2022, we started an upcycling initiative to upcycle our defected archive collection stock. The result of the unique piece of the upcycling project was then sold with some proceeds donated to an environmental NGO. This also marked our first solid step towards becoming a more sustainable brand. We hope to continue this upcycling project and making it an annual project.

Here are the details from our project:

Asymmetrical handwoven dress with smocked details on the front and puff sleeves cut from waffle pleated fabric with a useful cargo pocket detail. The dress also comes with a layered belt made from deadstock pleated fabric. This dress has been upcyled from our defected Batavia shirt dress stock. Only one piece is available. We will be donating 22% pf the sales proceeds to WALHI (Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia)

This Project was done by our Fashion Design Interns from Binus Northumbria School of Design - Anthony Gerard Latu, Sandra S Rodel & Chanreaksmey Loy.

We are also using small pieces of leftover fabrics from old collection to create some one of a kind bucket hats, purse and masks. Click here to check out our Tokopedia store.

Curious about the process and outcome of how we upcycled the old Batavia dress into the new Malaika dress? Click here to watch the process video!
