Making Our Textiles

Most of our textiles are handwoven in different parts of Indonesia. For our designs we combine some ready-made handwoven textiles sourced from different artisan weavers across the archipelago, but most are our own designs. When start by sketching our designs, and thinking about the kind of texture we are aiming for and the thickness and hand feel of the fabric. We then discuss this with our partner weavers. We choose the yarn, have them dyed in the colors that we want ( we are trying to use more and more natural dyes) and our partner weaver will then make a small weaving sample.
