SLOW

Slow Fashion is defined as the opposite to "fast fashion".

Whereas fast fashion is the phenomena of companies trying to mass produce fashion on a very fast basis, leading to excess waste and clothes being unused due to "going out of style", slow fashion promotes sustainability for clothes, both in terms of eco-friendliness and the wearable longevity of the product.

Slow fashion emphasizes on 3 major components: eco-friendly fashion, long-lasting fashion, and ethical fashion. From resource collection, all the way to the finished production and shipping, slow fashion aims to be as sustainable and ethical as possible to reduce carbon footprint and improve quality of life for the employees too.

One simple and achievable way to represent this pillar within our business would be to source our fabrics/materials from local and sustainable fabric manufacturers. We should also be transparent with our customers, so that they may see the process of fashion production in motion and build trust with them.

We should also conduct dye jobs using natural/eco-friendly dyes. The easier method is to do thorough research to find eco-friendly fabric dye brands that are honest and transparent. Alternatively, some examples of colorful dyes that can be made at home include such things like coffee, turmeric, red cabbage, hibiscus, etc.
